Pakistan’s automotive sector faced a downfall in sales after the recent price hike. Fuel prices have hiked up as well and vehicle owners have grown concerned more than ever.
According to reports, sales of commercial vehicles (light) declined by 18% with 17,891 units being sold in total. Last year the sales record touched 21,813 units in stats.
19,437 units were sold last month. As a result, 8% of the month on month sales fell down.
Trucks and Buses have faced a low with 50% downfall in sales.
Three-wheelers and Bikes also witnessed a 10% sales difference.
Toyota corolla still remained the well liked car in May 2019 as 4,096 unites were sold out which is 29% less than the last month.
Honda Civic and City led a combined sale of 2,564 units. Suzuki led the hatchback sales with WagonR (2,765 units) and Cultus led it with 2,546 units. Despite of the fact that Suzuki Mehran was terminated officially, the company still managed to sell 1789 units in 2019 May.
Suzuki could sell only 425 units of Swift witnessing a decline of 6% in total sales.
