Toyota Indus Motors (IMC) is taking a big step to help Pakistan’s economy by planning to export 50 vehicles soon. These exports will include popular models like the Fortuner, IMV series, and Corolla Cross.
IMC is not just focusing on exporting vehicles; they have also been successful in sending skilled workers abroad. More than 100 professionals have been sent to Japan to work with Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). These Pakistani professionals have been praised for their discipline, skills, and training, standing out among other countries in the Asia Pacific region. This effort is expected to bring in $2.5 million, highlighting the high value of Pakistani talent in the global automotive industry.
This initiative follows Prime Minister Shahbaz’s call for local carmakers to help the economy by entering international markets. IMC’s move showcases Pakistan’s automotive strengths to the world. The vehicles being exported are known for their reliability and performance, which should help them succeed in new markets and open doors for more exports in the future.
Millat Tractor to Export 3000 Units
Millat Tractor, a major player in Pakistan’s agricultural machinery industry, is also making efforts to boost the economy. The company plans to export around 3000 tractors in the fiscal year 2024 to various countries, including Africa, Afghanistan, South America, and the Middle East. This move is part of the tractor industry's success story in localizing production and increasing export potential.
Changan Pakistan's Export Success
Changan Pakistan is another important player in the market. In October 2023, Changan Pakistan exported 14 Oshan X7 SUVs to Kenya and Tanzania. This made Changan Pakistan the country’s largest exporter of advanced SUVs to international markets.
These efforts by Toyota Indus Motors, Millat Tractor, and Changan Pakistan demonstrate the potential of Pakistan’s automotive industry to contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth through exports.
