BYD, short for Build Your Dreams, was founded in 1995 in Shenzhen, China, and is now one of the world’s leading new energy vehicle makers. It makes its own batteries, electric motors and chips. BYD entered Pakistan in August 2024 through Mega Motor Company, a HUBCO associate. Its local lineup includes the Atto 2, Atto 3, Seal, Sealion 7 and Shark 6, and a plant near Karachi is being set up for assembly.

BYD Sealion 6 PHEV is a mid-size crossover with a clean, modern body and smooth lines. It measures 4,775 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, with a 2,765 mm wheelbase, close to the Haval H6 PHEV in size. The international model has 180 mm of unladen ground clearance and seats five.

Outside, the international model gets LED headlights and taillights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and a power tailgate. The BYD Sealion 6 interior is screen-focused, with up to a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system. Two 15W wireless chargers are included, and boot space is 425 litres, growing to 1,440 litres with the rear seats folded. Pakistani variants may differ.
BYD Sealion 6 Battery and Specs
The BYD Sealion 6 specs for Pakistan point to a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, with reported output of 215 hp and 300 Nm. The 18.3 kWh Blade battery gives a claimed electric-only range of up to 70 km (NEDC), and the claimed combined range is around 1,100 km. Short daily trips can run on electricity alone, while long drives need no charging stop. BYD will confirm the final numbers at launch.
BYD Sealion 6 Competitors in Pakistan
In Pakistan, it will rival the
Haval H6 PHEV,

Jetour T1 PHEV. The J7 and HS PHEV are priced close to PKR 1 crore, while the H6 PHEV costs PKR 1.29 crore ex-factory. The BYD Sealion 6 price is not final yet, but local assembly could help it compete with these rivals.
