Sazgar Engineering Works says the GWM Cannon Alpha will launch in Pakistan in the coming months. Management promised a competitive price. The company is not raising car prices despite 18% GST. It also plans a Rs22 billion expansion and will bring ARCFOX electric cars. The route for ARCFOX depends on the new auto policy.
What Sazgar Said About the Cannon Alpha
Sazgar shared the update at its corporate briefing on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The session covered FY26 results and future plans. Topline Securities reported the details.

Management said the Cannon Alpha will launch in the coming months at a competitive price. Coverage of the briefing does not mention a launch date or an exact price. Some sites spell the name "Canon Alpha."
Sazgar also showed new energy vehicles (NEVs) at the Pakistan Auto Show last week, along with the Tank 300 and Jolion Max. Profit reports that the launch list also includes the P500 and Haval H7.
ARCFOX Electric Cars Are Coming
ARCFOX is a high-end electric brand from BAIC Group. Sazgar plans to introduce the ARCFOX T1, a battery electric vehicle, and the T5, a range-extended electric vehicle. Sazgar's partnership with BAIC goes back to 2018.
The company has not decided how these cars will arrive. They could come as fully built imports (CBU) or be assembled locally as CKD kits. Management said the new auto policy will decide this.
Management also expects the government to support plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) in the new policy. Sazgar will plan future launches around that direction.
Prices Stay Unchanged Despite 18% GST
Sazgar is absorbing the higher sales tax. It has not raised vehicle prices. Management expects the new policy to bring lower GST. It does not want today's buyers to carry the extra tax.
Current prices are based on existing notified taxes. Sazgar will make major pricing decisions once the policy is clear.
Rs 22 Billion Expansion Plan
Sazgar plans to spend Rs22 billion on its plant. The plan includes a new paint shop. Management expects the work to finish in nine to 10 months. About Rs17 billion will come from debt, and the rest from equity.
Nukta reports that daily output would rise to about 180 vehicles from roughly 100 now. Nukta also reports that management will go ahead with the expansion whatever the policy outcome.
Record Year Behind the Plans
Sazgar posted record net revenue of Rs191.72 billion in the year ended June 30, 2026. That is up 76.4% from Rs108.69 billion a year earlier. Profit after tax rose 44.5% to Rs23.60 billion, according to Profit.
Auto Policy Still Pending
The new auto policy is still delayed. Sazgar ties its ARCFOX route and pricing decisions to it. PakWheels notes that no timeline has been announced.
